How Do I Download and Transfer PSP Games From PC Onto My PSP in 6 Easy Steps by Dino Solar

First Of All: What Do You Need ?

PSP
COMPUTER (PC/MAC/LINUX)
memory Stick Duo Or Memory Stick Pro Duo
USB Cable With A Mini-B Connector On One End

STEP 1: CONNECT YOUR PSP TO PC

The PSP can function as a USB Memory Stick Duo reader. Using this functionality, you can copy pictures, audio, and other content to and from your Memory Stick Duo. To access the Memory Stick Duo in your PSP from your PC, you'll need a USB cable that has a "Mini-B" connector (common for digital cameras) and a "Standard-A" connector (common for printers, etc). Plug the Mini-B side into the top of your PSP and the Standard-A side into your PC. From the psp software, navigate to the top of the settings list and select "USB Connection." Your PC (Windows/Mac/Linux) should detect a new "Removable Disk Drive" that you can then access.

STEP 2: FORMAT YOUR MEMORY STICK

In order to be able to use your new memory stick on your PSP, you'll have to format it. When you format your memory stick, the formatting will create a set of new folders on your PSP: GAME, MUSIC, PHOTO, and SAVEDATA.

STEP 3: EXTRACT THE SAVED GAME

This process will greatly depend on which software you use to extract zip files. WinRAR for instance offers the "extract here" option, which will simply extract the contents of a zip file to it's current directory.

STEP 4: TRANSFER SAVE GAME TO "SAVEDATA" FOLDER

Just copy the folder you have just extracted, and paste it into the PSP's "SAVEDATA" folder. But, BEWARE!, to any folder overwrite warnings! Because the PSP save game folders use the same names for the same games, copying folders into these locations could lead to lost data. For this reason, we recommend that you backup your old save games before overwriting them. For Example, I would simply rename a folder like "ULPS0004" to "ULPS0004_backup."

STEP 5: EXIT USB MODE

Because your PSP has been in USB Mode throughout this process, just push X to exit. Then you can safely disconnect your PSP from your PC.

STEP 6: VERIFY TRANSFER OF SAVE DATA

To verify the integrity of the SAVE GAME data you have just transferred, use the PSP's built-in Save Data Utility. Select it from the "Game" menu.

Sony was not kidding when they admitted that their platforms are experiencing a significant shortage of good games. You might say there's not much in the way of PSP games department going on right now. However, just because the past few months of PSP releases have not been substantial does not mean we did not get some great games earlier this year that are still available. Here is three of the best.

Wipeout Pulse, the first of this three, is the PSP sequel to the over the top racing game Wipeout Pure. Though this follow up provides no extreme changes to the principles of Wipeout, the same intense racing style has been polished until it positively shines, and comes with with online multiplayer options to boot.

The racing in Wipeout Pulse is performed in slick, space ship looking vehicles that can move at extreme speeds. The singleplayer campaign consists of completing tournaments and challenges in order to unlock new ships, race modes, etc. There are so many races to complete, it's likely that it will take 10 to 15 hours approximately for you to finish them all; a very large sum for a racing game.

In addition to racing tracks from past installments, there are a total of twelve new tracks. Some of these tracks feature magnetic strips that will lead you to do such things as loop around, drive along upside down lanes, and even take you over sheer drops. This and other adjustments, such as the ability to play against seven other people locally or around the globe due to online multiplayer options, make Wipeout Pulse one of the best games the franchise has seen.

Second is Secret Agent Clank, which is something of a spinoff of the main Ratchet & Clank series. The game's story begins to unfold as Clank witnesses his partner Ratchet stealing a magnificently gargantuan gem from a museum. From then on the game takes the guise of a Jame Bond flick, with plenty of bizarre twists and unlikely encounters, as Clank attempts to prove Ratchet's innocence and get to the bottom of what appears to be a much larger scheme.

Over the course of the game, players take on the role of three characters: Clank, Ratchet, and Captain Qwark. Clank's levels are the main attraction, as they allow you to employ stealth and martial arts to get the job done. The neat thing about Clank's stealth mechanics is they are very forgiving and mostly optional. Ratchet's are probably the least fun overall, but they shake things up with some serious shooting action. Qwark's levels are a first for the series, since we have never before been able to play as him in 3D.

The game could easily take you hours upon hours to complete, and due to the challenge mode which takes you through the game again only pitting you against harder enemies, you will want to come back to it more than once.

Thirdly, there is Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII, arguably the best PSP game that has ever been available period. It's also been called one of the best Japanese RPG's in years, and I'm quite inclined to agree.

The star in this Final Fantasy spinoff is teenage spiky haired hero, Zack. A teenage, spiky haired protagonist in a Square-Enix game? Who would have thought, right? But Zack comes across as a very authentic character who experiences many believable developments and changes over the course of the story. It's what Square-Enix does best. Not only that, but they have pulled it all off while implementing an action-rpg combat system. Using this system, you can attack, block and evade enemy attacks, and use spells and abilities all by pressing buttons in real time.

But most of all, the world that Crisis Core presents is that of characters and environments that will move you, as great Square-Enix games are known to. Most games are not usually supposed to do that. What more could you ask for?
